Texas Ice Tea Cocktails  have a reputation as the “Bad Boy” or “Bad Girl” of alcoholic beverages.   This has come about, partially because of the ration of alcohol to mixer but more so because it has been abused over the years.  As in all alcoholic drinks, it needs to be consumed in moderation and sipped appreciably.

One Texas Ice Tea is plenty and if we mix it in our little 1/2 liter carafe then we have two perfectly blended drinks to watch the sun go down.     This recipe contains approximately just more than a double shot per drink and is actually a very delicate tasting beverage.

Texas tea vs Long Island Iced Tea:

Both of these cocktails go down smooth but are very strong.   A Texas Tea Cocktail contains an added shot of bourbon whiskey and like all things Texas makes this a bigger bolder cocktail.   Both have a little sweetener that masks the strong taste of alcohol but our Texas Tea Drink uses a Sweet and Sour Mix instead of simple syrup.
