The Me, Myself and I Game

My Beautiful, Crazy Life

These awesome ladies have a fun project going that is designed for all of us to get to know each other better in a mini crash course each month.
This sounds like so much fun so hop over and visit any of these ladies for the link and join the fun.

This is the first time I have ever participated in an organized themed writing assignment ( it's really talking, because I am not a writer I am just a talker who types)  but I just love the goal behind this one.
And of course it kinda kicks me out of my comfort zone, makes me talk about myself, not what I am doing but totally about my inner workings:)

These are the questions these ladies threw at me this month

1. What is your biggest phobia?
2. If you could relive any day of your life, what would it be and why?
3. If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be?
4. Which celebrity do you get mistaken for?
5. What songs are included on the soundtrack to your life?

Ok here goes
1. After careful thought, I believe my biggest phobia is to "NOT do something".  I am a fixer and planner and when an idea hits me I go into action not because I am so motivated but because I am afraid that I will let the opportunity pass me by.

2. My best day ever is the day I married my sweet Fellow, I was so nervous and didn't realize the enormous importance of this decision and just  how it would affect the rest of my life, my goals, my thoughts and my children. It was the most important  decision I have ever made and I just wish I knew then how correct and perfect that decision was on that day.

3.The age question is probable the toughest because it's a trade off, of course I would love to have that twenty something year old body but I would not trade my fifty something year old brain to have it. Not that I am so smart now, but life's experiences have a way of shaping one and I really like the person I have come to be.

4. I have never been mistaken for any celebrity but years ago I had someone tell me I have the Cindy Crawford mole above my lip. (I see everyone looking at my picture hunting for a mole, lol) Does this count to have a look-a-like mole?

5. The one song that comes to mind is "Big City" by Merle Haggard.  (I see all the eyerolling and the raised eyebrows and the "who?" question, Lol.)  This is the song that I hear ever time I call my Fellow (it's his ringback) and it describes our goals in life right now.  Basically the words (of course I also love the music, I have danced many a mile with my hubby to this song)  are about getting away from it all and being free.

Big City Lyrics
Turn me loose, set me free, somewhere in the middle of Montana.
And gimme all I got comin' to me,
And keep your retirement and your so called social security.
Big City turn me loose and set me free.

Been working everyday since I was twenty.
Haven't got a thing to show for anything I've done.
There's folks who never work and they've got plenty.
Think it's time some guys like me had some fun.

Turn me loose, set me free, somewhere in the middle of Montana.
And gimme all I got comin' to me,
And keep your retirement and your so called social security.
Big City turn me loose and set me free

  1. What a fun "game" :) I know that Merle Haggard song ... My dad listened to a lot of the old-time country singers when I was growing up! Some of it may or may not have rubbed off on me ;) LOL. I'll be looking forward to learning more about you and some of the other bloggers through these posts! I also stopped by to let you know I nominated you for the Liebster Award ... You can read more about it here ~

  2. What fun! It's nice to learn some things about you. My phobia is spiders and I don't even like to write about it! ewwww :-)

  8. What a fun game ~ I love stepping out of my comfort zone (every now and then!) to find some creative writing material and just to make myself try new things! I posted your button on my page and would love if you would do the same with mine! You have a great blog by the way ~

  9. Just stopping by from Say it Saturday -- those are some interesting questions. You've certainly given me something to think about this morning. Thanks for sharing.

  10. Great questions. Each alone would perhaps make a good blog post. :D

  11. Lisa is right! You could get a lot of post out of those questions! The one about the age; I have always answered that as 35 because I was happy with myself, comfortable in my own skin and still looked really good;) but now I'm not so sure, I like where I am as a grandmother so hey, I'm not sure I could answer that. Thanks for linking at Grandparents Say It Saturday!

  12. Thanks so much for sharing with Wednesdays Adorned From Above Link Party. I really loved learning more about you.
