Snow in the South West

Here in the South Southwest we do not see this sight very often.  Usually we go to the mountains to play in the snow and if it snows in my yard, its melted by noon.
But we had snow on the ground for two (almost three) days!!

I love a new snowfall, everything looks so clean and perfect

Obviously you can tell the direction the storm came from.  How does this snow just defy gravity on the tree branches?

What do the birds do in the north!  Oh yes, I remember they fly south.  My bird feeders blew down during the storm so I had to improvise to feed these hungry doves.  I love watching them eat, its that same feeling you have when you feed your children and watch them eat:)

  1. It is very pretty. I live in the North though, and I am about sick of seeing the white stuff! We do have some birds that stay year round, like the cardinal. Have a great day!

  3. We still have snow here, Evelyn, so I am thinking just because you have snow you might not be able to send them back here *smile*

  5. Hola Evelyn...I used to live on Cedar Crest, right around The Sandia Peak and and it was funny because we never knew for real when it was going to fall hard enough to practically blocked us inside the house! like you say..it doesn't happens often in the South West but when it does..it does it for good!!! Have a Beautiful Valentines! Hugs, Lizy

  6. Hi Evelyn,
I love that photo of the birds! We just got about 30 inches dumped on us, followed by freezing rain - ugh! I'd rather be where you are! :)

  12. Our weather is so up and down...freezing ice, snow, rain one day, jacket weather the next (in the middle of winter) and then snow again. Crazy. Your pictures are nice!
