Sunflower Fields

With all the rains this year in Texas, wildflowers have just flourished!  They are just gorgeous and one flower that is in abundance is the sunflower.

We were in the middle of our big barn build so we didn't plow or plant some of our fields and the sunflowers took advantage!

I had to climb up on top of my four wheeler to get this shot, yep the sunflowers are not only plentiful,  they are super super tall!

I can't even see the tree line in the distance in this field!

This is a four wheeling trail behind the dirt tanks (ponds) and the sunflowers are giant!!

Here is a quick visual measurement of the size of these guys.   That's me standing in the shade and I'm 5'7" so you get the picture!   These are at least 7-9 feet tall!
Yep, I do believe we have sunflower trees!!

A few of these sunflowers even drifted into my yard!

From the Land of the Sunflower!!

  1. How beautiful! I'm a sunflower lover but a hectic schedule kept me from planting this year. They don't come up on their own here other than a few volunteers. So my laziness left me sunflowerless. Thanks for sharing yours!

  2. Oh, wow! I am amazed to see how tall they are! I can see plenty of sunflowers roadsides where I live, but I have not found a sunflower field. Wish I could see your land in person!

  6. So pretty, Evelyn ! I would plop myself somewhere in the middle of the field with a book and easily spend a whole day there :-)
