At this time of the year, I love looking back and revisiting the great food and fun we enjoyed together here at My Turn for us in 2015.    I am so blessed to have a loving family who all believe food brings it's magic to holidays and adds to those special days or makes any ordinary day special.     All these pictures bring back some great memories of 2015 and I thought I would take today to re-share some of the food and fun we enjoyed at the Ranch in 2015.
Hope your year was as blessed as ours and hope for more blessings for everyone in the coming year.

This is an amazing cookout star!  It is reminiscent of our time in Southern California where Carne Asada rules!

This picture was taken at my sister-in-laws Ranch during Fourth of July celebrations

The hubby and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary in New Orleans this year and we recreated this dish upon our return.
One thing about being retired is enjoying a leisurely breakfast and this easy ( (I mean really easy) syrup is better than your favorite pancake house syrup.

Mason Jar Solar Lights
These lights were a snap to make and were a big hit at our Family Reunion auction.

A good friend of ours shared this recipe with me years ago and I rediscovered it this year and enjoyed the memories.

These are a Texas speciality and can be found in most doughnut shops in central and east Texas.  I can't get enough of these!   I love Texas!

The soup was a great comfort to us as trials and challenges tried to trespass into our sanctuary of the Ranch this year.  Sometimes just a great soup will keep the negativity at bay!

Even though I am a product of the South,  I somehow missed out of this classic as a child.  But it's never too late to grab those memories and make them your own.

My garden had an abundance of zucchini this year and I discovered these fun tots!  What a great way to enjoy your veggies

We had some great guests at the Ranch this year and this casserole stepped up to the plate so we could enjoy that extra cup of coffee in the morning with them.  We could still be the great hosts we love by serving them a great and healthy breakfast.

My grandfather always asked my mother to make these for him when we visited, she used the same ingredients for cabbage to make a clear cole slaw.

Now we are looking forward to what 2016 brings!

  1. I think it's fun to look back and see what was popular throughout the year! I've got to make your Whale Watermelon this summer!
