A few weeks ago, the hubby and I were traveling thru Gail, Texas and found a quaint place to have lunch.  And it wasn’t hard to choose where to eat, there are only two business’ in the whole County (Borden County, Texas.   And we were lucky enough to pick the one cafe with the best personality, I guess the odds were like 50/50.  Anyway, everyone inside were local people and they all chimed in with suggestions as to what we should order.  Seriously they did.   Since chicken fried steak was one of their favorites, the hubby decided to try it and it was served with fresh  Southern Green Beans.

When Green Beans are in season we pretty much do the exact same thing! The only thing that I do a bit differently is to add more butter and fresh baby potatoes. That and a skillet of cornbread makes a wonderful meal.

Seriously! This is easily one of my favorite side dishes!! It's crazy how flavorful they are - and if we ever have leftovers, I always call dibs on them!! :D

The beans look delicious, Evelyn ! I can not think of one place here, even out in the country-side towns, where strangers would chat about what to eat :-) Nice to know such places really exist !
