Faux Granite Decorative Wine Bottles

Make faux granite decorative wine bottles or jute wrapped bottles for you home decor.  These DIY decorative bottles have a classic look but are inexpensive and easy to make.

My bathroom has a coastal theme and these bottles just add to it.   Also seen here is a Large Dried Starfish,  large seashells, Candle on a birch tree slice and decorative soaps and dish. So the color and these jute wrapped bottles.  This little project just took about 1 hour, not counting drying time for the paint.

Equipment Needed:

Just about any bottle will work, you could use different shapes of the the same size or many different sizes.

  • Wash a empty wine bottle well, remove labels  and allow it to dried completely
  • Spray your bottles with the Granite Paint following label directions, allow to dry completely

  • Begin at the bottom of the jar and apply a small amount of glue. Press the start of the jute twine to the glue and let dry.
  • Continue wrapping around the bottle, gluing every few inches until you get back to the starting point.   Continue to wrap the bottle with the jute, gluing as needed.  I applied a tiny dot of glue about once every three wraps.
  • Stop wrapping at a point of your choice, whatever pleases your eye. Cut the jute twine and slide under the last row and add a dot of glue. Trim end.
  • Continue with any of your other bottles adding the jute wrap in the middle or even the top of the bottles or vases.
