We love using recycled items to make festive decorations like these patriotic centerpiece arrangements.  Even the flowers are from an arrangement from last year.    I was going through by patriotic decor looking for ideas for a red white and blue centerpiece and just couldn’t find what I wanted this year.    So I decided to use an old patriotic arrangement and create some fun painted can vases.

You could use just about any size can for this Patriotic centerpiece, depending how big you choose.    And these would be great outside if you placed pebbles or marbles inside as weights.  We have some pretty strong winds around here at the Ranch and I know this centerpiece made with a metal painted can would survive.

What you will need for a painted can centerpiece:

  • 2 empty tin cans, labels removed
  • White paint
  • Red paint
  • Blue paint
  • Masking tape
  • Star stickers
  • Jute twine
  • Flowers
