Instructions

  • Remove the cherries from the juice and use a paper towel to drain and dry the cherries.  The cherries need to be completely dry so the chocolate will adhere properly.
  • Follow the package directions to melt the chocolate candy melts.  (We used a candy melting pot)
  • Hold a cherry by the stem and dip it into the melted chocolate until completely covered. Place on parchment paper and repeat with the other cherries.  Allow all of them to cool until the chocolate is hard
  • Hold an unwrapped chocolate kiss by the tip and dip the bottom of it into the melted chocolate.  But you need to only cover the bottom of the kiss.  Then attach it to the coated cherry to make the head of the mouse. (You will need to hold it in place for a second or two until it  firmly attaches to the chocolate covered cherry)
  • Take two slivered almonds and dip the widest end of each of them into the melted chocolate.  Then attach them between the kiss and chocolate covered cherry side to side to make the ears.
