Instructions

For the cake or bars

  • Start your frosted banana bars by preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 13 X 18 X 1 inch baking sheet
  • In a large mixing bowl, (we use our aluminum mixing bowl and kitchen-aide mixer) cream the softened butter and sugar Add the eggs and beat until mixed. Add mashed bananas and vanilla and mix
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves and salt and mix well
  • Add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and beat well
  • Pour the mixture into your prepared baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until it springs back slightly to the touch.
  • Remove from oven. and allow to cool completely before starting the frosting

For the Frosting

  • Measure out the powdered sugar into a large mixing bowl. Add the butter and cream cheese and mix well then add the vanilla and mix. Your cream cheese frosting should be creamy and well combined.
  • Using a cake frosting spreader, spread over the entire banana sheet cake using the entire bowl of frosting.
  • Place in fridge and chill for at least an hour. Remove from fridge and slice into 36 frosted banana bars
