Instructions

  • It is easier to paint your wooden beads if you first slide them on a wooden skewer. Place 10 beads on a skewer leaving about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of space between each one. Add 10 other beads to a second skewer for the different color.
  • Apply one coat of red craft paint all over the beads, be sure to cover it entirely. And allow it to dry until paint is no longer tacky. Once dry, add another coat to give it nice solid finish, allow to dry again.
  • Repeat all the steps with the second skewer by painting the beads white. Allow all the beads to dry completely and remove them from the skewers.
  • To make your beads easier to string on the jute twine, dip the end in glue and smooth it flat, allow it to harden. Or you can do this with a bit of hot glue because it dries quickly. Just add a dab to the end, wait for it to cool enough to touch and shape the tip into a point.
  • Slide beads over the end of the twine, alternating the white and red until you have a total of 10 beads. Leave 3-4 inches of excess twine on either end.
  • Thread both ends into your heart embellishment and tie into a knot and cut the ends leaving couple inches.
