Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup sour cream divided
  • 1 packet taco seasoning 2 tablespoons
  • cup salsa
  • 4 green onions finely chopped
  • 2 cups fiesta blend cheese shredded
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded
  • ¼ Red Bell Pepper
  • ¼ Orange Bell Pepper

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, ½ cup of the sour cream, and the packet of taco seasoning until the mixture is completely smooth, creamy, and fully combined with no lumps remaining.
  • Spread the taco-seasoned cream cheese mixture in an even layer across the bottom of a large rectangular serving platter or baking dish.
  • Spread the salsa in an even layer over the cream cheese mixture, then sprinkle the chopped green onions evenly on top.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the salsa layer, covering it completely from edge to edge (leaving a small border if desired for the end zones later).
  • Top the center of the shredded cheese layer with the shredded lettuce, creating a green “field” down the middle while leaving the cheese exposed at both ends of the platter to serve as the end zones.
  • Transfer the remaining ½ cup of sour cream to a piping bag (or a zip-top plastic bag with a small corner snipped off). Pipe straight yard lines across the shredded lettuce to mimic football field markings.
  • Slice the bell peppers into thin strips, then cut them into small squares to resemble football players. Arrange these colorful pieces on top of the lettuce “field,” lining them up like opposing teams for the finishing touch.
  • Serve alongside plenty of tortilla chips or corn chips, and pair it with your other favorite game day appetizers for an unbeatable snack spread!
