Springtime in Texas means Bluebonnets

April 8, 2015 by Evelyn 2 Comments

It’s Springtime in Texas and we know what that means,
 Bluebonnets!

Bluebonnets, Texas Bluebonnets

Bluebonnets just scream springtime and are an important part of Texas.

Yesterday on a little trip to town, I had my hubby stop the car quite a few times to grab these shots of my neighbors yards.

Along the state highways, there are patches of these gorgeous flowers!

They seem so delicate but are very hardy to come up each and every year in such droves!

Kinda like us Texas Gals, look a little delicate but we are hardy!!

Bluebonnet is the state flower of Texas and is known worldwide!

To quote historian Jack Maguire:

“It’s not only the state flower but also a kind of floral trademark almost as well known to outsiders as cowboy boots and the Stetson hat.  The Bluebonnet is to Texas what the shamrock is to Ireland, the cherry blossom to Japan, the lily to France, the rose to England and the tulip to Holland.”
God loves Texas!!
