1 21 ounce cancherry pie filling
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor. Process for 10 to 15 seconds, or until finely crushed.
Add the melted butter and process for another 5 to 10 seconds, until the crumbs are evenly moistened.
Press the cookie mixture firmly across the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie plate.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until set. Cool completely.
Stir the hot fudge topping until smooth. Spread it evenly over the bottom of the cooled crust.
Freeze the crust for 30 minutes, or until the fudge layer is firm.
Let the vanilla ice cream soften at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes. Spoon enough ice cream into the crust to fill it, then spread the top evenly.
Cover and freeze for at least 2 hours, or until firm. For cleaner slices, freeze for 4 hours or overnight.
Remove the pie from the freezer and let it stand for 5 to 10 minutes.
Slice the pie and spoon cherry pie filling over each serving.
Notes
Keep the cream filling in the Oreo cookies.
Do not add warm fudge to the crust.
The amount of ice cream needed depends on the depth of the pie plate.
Store the cherry filling separately and add it just before serving.
Dip the knife in hot water and wipe it dry between cuts for cleaner slices.
Store the covered pie in the freezer for up to one week.
