Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream Pie
Homemade vanilla ice cream pie with Oreo crust. This four layer ice cream pie is topped with cherry pie filling for an ultimate ice cream pie
This is the ultimate ice cream pie with an oreo cookie crust, a hot fudge layer and cherry pie topping. We decided to make not just a simple ice cream pie but we would totally go overboard and include four layers for our pie. A kinda ice cream pie fashioned after a hot fudge sundae.

Store bought ice cream can be used but it is also easy to make home-made ice cream. Plus no worries about the ice cream melting in this heat before you get home from the market. We finished this masterpiece with canned cherry pie filling as a topping
Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream Pie:
Ingredients:
- 16 chocolate sandwich cookies, crumbled (we used Oreos)
- ¼ cup butter, melted
- ¾ cup hot fudge topping (room temperature)
- 1- 21 ounce can of cherry pie filling
- 2 quarts vanilla ice cream (homemade see below or you could use store bought)
Equipment Needed
- Food Processor
- 9 inch pie plate
- Ice cream maker, if using
Ingredients and direction for 2 quarts Homemade Ice Cream
- 2 cups half and half
- 2 cups whipping cream
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1. Mix half & half, whipping cream, sugar and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
2. Add to your Ice Cream maker and follow manufacturers instructions for that particular ice cream maker
Ultimate Four Layer Ice Cream Pie Directions:
- Heat your oven to 375° F.
- In the food processor, place the crumbled cookies and process for 10-15 seconds until finely crushed. Add the melted butter and process 5-10 seconds until thoroughly mixed.
- Spread the cookie mixture into the pie plate and press on the bottom and up the sides. Make sure the bottom and sides are evenly covered as much as possible.
- Bake in you preheated oven for 8-10 minutes until set, cool completely.
- Stir hot fudge topping until smooth. Carefully spread over the bottom of the Oreo cookie crust. Place in freezer for about 30 minutes.
- Spread the vanilla ice cream over the fudge layer and cover. Place in freezer and allow to freeze for about 1 hour or until firm.
- Remove from freezer, slice and top with spoonfuls of the cherry pie filling.
- Serve and enjoy.
