Making the Brownies

  • Preheat your oven to 350° F and line a 9×9 baking pan with parchment paper and grease with nonstick cooking spray. In a large mixing bowl stir together the butter and sugar until well combined.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract to your mixture, and mix until light and fluffy.
  • Stir in the red food coloring.
  • Add the cocoa powder, flour and salt. Stir to mix.
  • Spread the batter into the prepared pan and bake in the preheat oven for 45 to 50 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove from oven and allow to cool

Making the Cream Cheese Frosting

  • Add the powdered sugar and milk to the butter mixture and beat. Continue beating until completely combine, scraping sides as needed.
  • Remove the brownies from the pan using the parchment paper, place on cutting board. Make sure the brownies are cool and then spread the frosting on the top, coating completely.
  • Slice into 16 squares and serve.
  • Add the softened cream cheese, room temperature butter and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl. Using your mixer beat until smooth.
