Step-by-Step Instruction to make Rice Krispie Snowballs
Melt the butter: Place 3 Tbsp butter in a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30–40 seconds until fully melted.
Melt the marshmallows: Reserve 6 marshmallows for the Hats. Add the rest of the marshmallows to the melted butter, toss to coat, then microwave on HIGH for 1 ½ minutes. Stir after 45 seconds and continue heating until smooth.
Mix in cereal: Immediately add 6 cups Rice Krispies. Stir gently until evenly coated
Cool slightly: Let the mixture cool for about 5 minutes (until comfortable to handle).
Shape the snowmen: Butter your hands well. Form the mixture into 6 large balls (½ cup each) for the bodies and 6 small balls (¼ cup each) for the heads. Place on parchment paper and let cool completely.
Snowman Hat Instructions 🎩
Line up 6 chocolate sandwich cookies (chocolate side up) on parchment paper or a silicone mat.
Melt your dipping chocolate per package directions—or use a fondue pot for smooth, easy dipping.
Grab a toothpick or skewer, dip each of the 6 reserved marshmallows into the chocolate, then gently press one onto each cookie to form the stovepipe hat.
Let the hats cool completely until set.
Crafting the Scarves 🧣
Cut the strips: Unroll your fruit roll-ups and measure 10–12 inches per scarf. Cut 6 strips total.
Add fringe: With a sharp knife, make small slashes (about 1 inch long) along both ends of each strip to create fun fringe.
Repeat: Do the same for all 6 scarves.
Crafting the Noses 🥕
Shape the carrots: Pinch off a small piece of orange fruit snack and roll it between your fingers into a tiny carrot shape (about ½ inch long)
.Repeat: Make 6 noses total (one for each snowman).
Assembling the Rice Krispie Snowmen ❄️
Stack the body: Dab a bit of marshmallow cream on a ½-cup ball and gently press a ¼-cup ball on top to form the head. Gently push pretzel sticks into the sides of the body for arms.
Add the face: Use marshmallow cream to attach mini chocolate chips for eyes, a mini chip or dried cranberry for the mouth, and your fruit snack carrot for the nose.
Wrap the scarf: Drape a fringed fruit roll-up scarf around the neck—tie or press to secure.
Top it off: Add a dollop of marshmallow cream to the head and place a chocolate-dipped hat on top.
Arms last: Gently push pretzel sticks into the sides of the body for arms.
