How to Make Easy Herbed Bread:

herbed bread

You will need:

  • 1- 13.9 ounce of refrigerated Pizza Dough (we used Pillsbury)
  • 3 Tablespoons of grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 3 Teaspoons of Italian Seasoning

Open and kneed the dough on a flour covered pastry mat.   Then sprinkle the Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese onto the dough and kneed well until thoroughly combined.

Roll the herbed bread dough out into a large circle and cut into 15 strips that are about 1 inch x 4 inches.

Making the sausage in a blanket:

Ingredients:

  • 1 package Sweet Italian Sausages
  • Spicy Mustard, optional
  • Marinara Sauce, optional

Grill the sausages until done and allow to rest for 5-10 minutes.  Cut each one into thirds and place each one of the pieces of sausages onto a bread strip.   Wrap the dough around the sausage and tie into a knot.  Place the knotted bread sausages on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven 475 degree oven for about 10 minutes or until brown.

Serve these with a spicy mustard and/or marinara sauce at your next get-to-gather or game day party.

OH, only sort of related, but I wonder how good that dough would taste as a true pizza dough. I never thought to spruce up the pizza dough…I might have to give it a whirl.

    These look yummy, btw. šŸ™‚

Wouldn't it make more sense to roll the pizza dough into a rectangle, since you're cutting rectangular strips of dough?
