  2. No signs of spring here yet. We are to get snow tomorrow. Our normal planting day for annuals starts at about Mother's Day and no tomato plants put out until the end of May. Happy Spring to you buddy. Love the animals!!

  21. Evelyn, you make me want to get out in the garden!! Love your new li'l plants- those tomatoes and squash will be huge SOON! (Yum!). I was excited to see the bluebonnets pop out last week. When I was growing up around Abilene, I remember folks watching for the mesquites to start budding out, they considered that to be the TRUE sign of spring. The Abilene Reporter News would always run a long old poem about it..several verses, and each one would detail signs of spring, but each verse would end with, "but the mesquites ain't out yet".....so it wasn't really spring YET. ♥

They're out, and the lilacs are blooming and the plants are up! Yay, Spring! Thanks for such a happy post, Evelyn!

  24. Despite our brutal Michigan winter, there are nice green day lily shoots poking their little heads up at the edge of the woods behind our house. And our squirrel doesn't need to dig for his peanuts, and we have spotted a few robins, and the cats all want to go sit out on the deck, even abandoning their favorite sunny spots on the couch.....it's all good over here too!

  30. I loved the pictures!

Spring is with us too. Flowers are in bloom and the grasses are seeding. Here where we live, the olive groves have young sheep and goats bouncing merrily around them - sadly it's Easter next week so many of them will disappear - but at least there short lives are spent frolicking in fields and olive groves!

For me the true sign of spring is when our resident swallows arrive back and start nesting again, when I see them I know that our winter is over.

  31. Signs of spring in Vegas: The temps go from a pleasant 65-70 to 90 degrees in only a week. Mother Nature has a bit of a twisted sense of humor with us. I do notice more flowers and greener trees so there's that as well. =)
