Herb Garden Markers

I have been wishing to make some little plant markers for my herb garden but didn’t want anything too expensive or too time consuming.

These dinner knives came in a package of 4 for  96 cents at Walmart!
Sweet!
I grabbed my Sharpie Paint Markers and colored an area on the handle.  Then using a different color I wrote the names of my herbs.
Easy Peasy:)))
I even made a few for my vegetable garden!
I just love these and now when I send my son out to pick a few herbs for me, I get exactly what I order.

And I just couldn’t beat the cost!   I bought eight and spent less than $2 since I already had the paint markers:))

  1. Hi Evelyn, I love basil and mint. I plant them through out the year indoor. I love your garden, I didn't think tomatoes can be planted in in pots, I know yours is large. I might try it, thank you for sharing!

  2. Good evening Evelyn, This is a really good idea….. after years of being married and daughters leaving home, I have quite a collection of knives and forks which I do not need anymore, but I have not thrown them away (well you never know when they will be useful)…. well, the day has arrived, I am going to use them to make these markers for the plants in my garden. I do know the names of the plants, but do you know sometimes when a friend asks me the name, the name of the plant goes right out of my head, so if I label everything, I will not forget.
Thank you for a fabulous idea.
    Best wishes

  5. Evelyn,
What a cool idea! You can buy them at a second hand store for like 10 cents too! Clever my friend and will last than a wooden one. I like it. Pinning!!!
