Texas Mesquite Trees in the Spring

Springtime in my part of  Texas means lime green leaves on the Mesquite trees!  Just a gorgeous shade contrasting with the dark trunks.

Old timers say it's time to plant when the Mesquites leaf out because that means winter is officially over.    "Never are these trees tricked by a early warming spell and fall victim to a late frost"

These leaves will turn a darker green as summer proceeds but right now, I am just loving this neon green across the Ranch!

  1. Beautiful Evelyn !
We have a giant cherry tree outside our bedroom window - which is in full regalia right now - wish it lasted all summer !

Thank you so much for your sweet comments:)))
