Stir together the cream cheese, ¼ cup sour cream (save the other ¼ cup for making the laces), and ranch seasoning until well combined. Fold in the shredded cheese, green onions, and half the bacon bits.
Form the cheeseball mixture into a football shape and wrap it tightly with plastic wrap. Place it in your refrigerator to chill for at least 2 hours.
