Red Truck Snow Globe in a mason jar

This  sweet little red truck snow globe is made with a wide mouth mason jar and few items picked up here and there.  It’s a waterless snow globe and the sky is the limit with possibilities for this little scene.   We used a little red truck and trees in our DIY snow globe mason jar but you could let your imagination soar.

We found our little truck at Walmart and the miniature trees at Hobby Lobby. But I bet the dollar Tree would have some cute items.   We also found several Miniature Collections  on Amazon.  But note, a wide mouth mason jar is right at 3 inches so you need figures no bigger than 2 inches wide or long.

How to make this red truck snow globe:

cotton balls glued to lid

Glue several cotton balls to the inside of the mason jar lid making sure you acquire some elevation so the decorations can sit up higher than the lid.  We piled ours more on one side than the other which made a snowy backdrop. And be sure to firmly attach the cotton balls so that when you turn the lid over they stay in place.

ornament and trees on cotton balls

Place the red truck ornament or any other ornament of your choosing and the little trees on top of the cotton balls.  And using your glue gun, glue them very securely.  Again you can test them by holding the lid up and turning it upside down making sure everything stays in place.

Adding faux snow to jar

Now add a small amount of your faux snow to the inside of the mason jar.

Screw the lid onto your  jar and flip the jar upside down.   Now you will be able to shake the jar to move the snow around.
