Summer Flip Flops

Aren't these flip flops kinda wild and crazy??  :))
That's kinda what I was going for!

These fun flip flops are everywhere but I wanted to change them up a little by adding bits of ribbon!

Here's how to make you own, easy peasy fun flip flops and the sky is the limit on colors!

All you need is a pair of flips flops (buy several pairs because you will not wish to stop with just one pair).  I gathered up several different patterns of cloth and ribbon and grabbed my scissors.

Cut the cloth into 3/4 x 5 inch strips and cut the ribbon into 5 inch strips.   You will need about 20-24 strips for each flip flop.  So cut about 40-48 strips and ribbon for this pair.

Begin at the toe, tying the strips into a double knot alternating colors to your preference.  Just tie as many strips as you like!

I am loving my new flip flops!

  10. 3 yrs. ago I put patriotic fabric strips on my flip flops for 7/4. With all the strips they kinda bugged me for awhile til I got used to the feel of the strips on my feet. Everybody that saw them thought they were pretty cute. It took me awhile to get all the strips on both the flip flops. I had a great deal of the fabrics so I could put as many different strips on as I wanted.
Love the colors and ribbons on yours, very pretty. What will you wear your fancy flip flops with? Happy summer Enjoy wearing them.
