Baby Sandals
Oh just thought I would share a super cute picture of one of my Granddaughters, LOL!
Yes, this is her adorable perfectly sweet little foot.
But of course I would also love to show off her little shoe. I expanded my crocheting talents from Barbie clothes for her sister’s Barbies to these sweet little shoes.
These are just too easy and are so adorable. I completed them in time for her to wear during summer vacation.
And of course I would also love to share the easy pattern so grab a crochet hook and some pretty yarn and start hooking!
Baby Sandals
Size E Crochet hook (3-6 months) or
Size G Crochet hook (6-12 months)
Yarn (choice of colors)
The Sole (the sole of each sandal consists of a top sole and a bottom sole that are sewn together.
Make 4 (two top soles and two bottom soles)
Round 1: Using main color ch 11, skip 4 ch, dc into 5th ch from hook and dc into next 5 ch. Into the last ch work 7 dc. 1 dc each into next 6 ch on the other side of the foundation chain. Into next ch (not into the ch sp) work 6 dc and join with a sl st to the strting ch.
Round 2: Ch 3, 1 dc each into next 7 st. 2 dc each into next 2 st, 3 dc into next st, 2 dc ear into next 2 st, 1 dc into next 8 st, 2 dc each into next 2 st, 3 dc into next st, 2 dc each next 2 st. Join with a sl st to beg of round
Round 3: Ch 2, hdd into next 7 st, 2 dc each into next 5 st, 3 dc into next st, 2 dc into next 5 st, 1 hdd each into next 8 st, 2 sc into next 5 st, 3 sc into next st, 2 sc each into next 5 st. Join with a sl st to the beg of round. Fasten off.
Toe Top
Join yarn into the 8th st from the point of joining towards the left on the top sole (first dc on that side)
Row 1 to 12 Ch 1, sc into same st, sc into next 2 st, ch 1 turn. Turn to the wrong side and sc into the corresponding st on the other side of the sole. Fasten off yarn. Insert yarn into the center of the strap, ch 4 and sc into the st where the yarn was inserted . Ch 1 turn and work 5 sc into the ring. Fasten off yarn and weave in the ends. This completes the little band over the toes with a button hole in the center.
Back Strap
Mark the center stitch of the bottom part of the sole. Join yarn into the 7th st opposite to the point of joining.
Round 1: (work into the front loops only) Ch 2, dc into next st (dc2tog), dc2tog 2 more times, dc into next 3 st, dc2tog 3 times, Ch 2, turn.
Round 2 and 3: 1 dc each into next 8 st
Chain 22, sl into 6th ch from hook forming a loop for the buttonhole, sl st into two more st and fasten off yarn. Insert the chains through the ring.
Place the top sole over the wrong side of the bottom sole and sew them both neatly together along the edges.
Flowers (make two)
With yellow thread ch 2, 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with a sl st to first sc. Fasten off. Attach chosen flower color thread (I used red). (Ch 2 3dc, ch 2, sl st) in the same sc, sl st to the next sc 5 times, making 5 petals. fasten off.
Attach flowers just in front of the button hole so the chain from the back strap can be inserted into the button hole and then looped over the flower to fasten.
The most important step: Find a baby and place on those adorable little feets:)
Enjoy!
