Worms, Dice and Everything Nice, Oogie Boogie Cocktail

Today my daughter Kristi is here with this amazing cocktail recipe.  She and her family are avid Disney fans and they enjoy so many of Disney’s seasonal special parties.   So we decided she is the expert to bring you this fun Oogie Boogie Cocktail recipe from Nightmare Before Christmas that she has recreated from Disney’s Worms, Dice and Everything Nice cocktail.

“Evelyn (I call her Mom) will tell you that our family is a Disney Family. We are lucky enough to live near the parks and while we love going all year long, we especially enjoy seasonal celebrations in the park. They go all out from themed decorations and characters, to ride overlays and shows and in the past few years, they have even extended their theming to seasonal foods and drinks. Going to the parks during the holidays now is as much about trying the seasonal food and drinks as it is about seeing the holiday decorations and experiencing the rides and shows themed to the season.

Halloween has arrived in the Disney parks and we recently attended their newest Halloween themed party, the Oogie Boogie Bash. It was a blast and among the many treats and delights we discovered was a Nightmare Before Christmas Oogie Boogie themed cocktail called Worms, Dice and Everything Nice. It was so perfectly themed to the Halloween party and this time of year.

And the adults toasted the season with this spooky fruity Halloween cocktail.  It was an amazing way to kick off the evening at the Oogie Boogie Bash.

Disney food is so iconic that you can find recipes all over the web to DIY all sorts of the most loved foods from the parks. I really wanted to recreate this drink at home and share it. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Copycat Worms, Dice, and Everything Nice Cocktail Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups Limeade (I made a pitcher of limeade from concentrate)
  • ½ cup Midori liqueur
  • ¼ cup Vodka
  • 3 cups Ice for Blended drink
  • Large box of Red Jell-O (I like cherry for this drink)
  • Gummy worms

Equipment Needed:

🥣 Recipe Tips

  • Chill Ingredients for a Perfect Slush: For the best slushy texture, ensure the limeade and ice are very cold before blending. If possible, refrigerate the Midori and vodka beforehand as well. This helps achieve a smooth, frosty consistency without over-blending, which can make the cocktail too watery. Blend just until the ice is finely crushed for optimal texture.
  • Use a Silicone Dice Mold for Easy Jell-O Removal: When preparing the red Jell-O dice, use a high-quality silicone mold to make it easy to pop out the dice without breaking them. Lightly spray the mold with non-stick cooking spray before pouring in the Jell-O to ensure clean release after chilling for at least 4 hours. Cherry Jell-O, as recommended, adds a vibrant, thematic color.
  • Garnish Strategically for Visual Impact: For the most striking presentation, use clear cups as suggested and add garnishes in this order: place the glowing ice cube at the bottom, pour the slush, then top with gummy worms and Jell-O dice. Position the gummy worms to hang slightly over the cup’s edge for a creepy, Oogie Boogie-inspired effect. Ensure the glowing ice cube is fully charged for maximum glow in low-light party settings.
