Chocolate Cherry Mice

Cherries and Chocolate are perfect for Valentines Day!  But Mice??
Why not??  Valentines Day should also be fun and these sweet little mice are totally fun!!
Not plain old chocolate covered cherries here!!

And don't forget these sweet little guys would be welcome around Christmas also!

Chocolate Cherry Mice
Ingredients
  • 1 jar of Maraschino cherries with stems
  • Bag of Chocolate Kisses
  • Slivered almonds
  • Candy melts or Chocolate Almond bark
Instructions
1. Remove cherries from the juice and using paper towels let drain and pat until dry
2. Using a double boiler melt chocolate carefully according to package directions.
3. Dip each cherry into chocolate until completely coated.
4. Place on parchment paper and allow to cool until hard.
5. Holding each chocolate kiss by the tip, dip the kiss in the melted chocolate (just enough chocolate to cover the bottom of the kiss) and attach to the chocolate covered cherry opposite of the stem (tail). The melted chocolate acts as glue
5. Take two slivered almonds and dip the widest part of the almonds in the chocolate and attach between the kiss and the chocolate covered cherry to make the ears

I use almond slivers for the ears and I also use a dab of white frosting to make eyes on the mice. Thank you for sharing.
