Happy Valentines Day!!
I have entered another great challenge this time sponsored by Lady Behind the Curtain.
The rules of this challenge are to use the two secret ingredients in a desert.
So the two secret ingredients this month are:
CHOCOLATE AND CHERRIES!!
How perfect for Valentines day!!!
Knowing I was going against some awesome challengers I decided to make something entirely different!!
And how different are edible mice??
Chocolate Cherry Mice
1 jar of Maraschino cherries with stems
Bag of Chocolate Kisses
Candy melts or Chocolate Almond bark
Remove cherries from the juice and using paper towels let drain and pat until dry.
Using a double boiler melt chocolate carefully. Dip each cherry into chocolate until completely coated.
Place on parchment paper and allow to cool until hard.
Holding each chocolate kiss by the tip, dip the kiss in the melted chocolate (just enough chocolate to cover the bottom of the kiss) and attach to the chocolate covered cherry opposite of the stem (tail). The melted chocolate acts as glue. Take two slivered almonds and dip the widest part of the almonds in the chocolate and attach between the kiss and the chocolate covered cherry to make the ears:)
Serve with a little cheese:)
Or better yet,
Serve with Champagne!!!
