Bourbon Pecan Pie

This is the perfect time of the year for me!!  Fall is just awesome in Texas!  I love all the cooler weather and the harvest coming in, the pantry is loaded with jams, jellies, veggies from the garden and my freezer still has pecans from our farm in New Mexico!  Remember I lived for several years on a pecan farm so I had access to some of the best pecans ever! And on my all time favorite pie for fall is Pecan Pie.  And lets not cut any corners, lets add dark brown sugar, real butter, dark corn syrup and just a splash of a good bourbon to make this the best Pecan Pie Ever!
And since I totally love Pecan Pie, life is good!!

Bourbon Pecan Pie

Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup (karo)
  • 2 tablespoons of bourbon
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked deep-dish pie crust

2. Mix corn syrup, eggs, sugar, butter, salt, bourbon and vanilla in a large bowl
3. Stir in pecans and pour into pie crust
4. Bake on center rack of oven for 60 to 70 minutes

  1. That does look delicious! I always make a pecan pie for my daughter's father-in-law for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I've wanted to try an extra special pie like yours but I don't know if I can get away with it -- think I should try!

  3. Your pecan pie loos wonderful. Must admit I'm a little envious of your ready access to pecans as they cost a small fortune in my part of the world.

  9. Do you know how much I love pecan pie? As much as I look forward to tomatoes in the summer, I'm even more fanatic about pecans (specifically pecan pie). Sadly, my tree produces every other year...and this is an off year. Sadness!
Thank you for teasing me. I mean linking!
