Mummy Hot Dogs Recipe:

Ingredients:

  •  A package of wieners
  • 1 Roll of Pizza Dough (we used Pillsbury Classic Pizza Crust)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon of water
  • Yellow mustard
  • Ketchup

Equipment Needed:

🥣 Recipe Tips

  • Chill the Dough for Easier Handling: Before rolling out the pizza dough, refrigerate it for 15-20 minutes. This makes it less sticky and easier to cut into thin, even strips for wrapping, ensuring a neater “mummy” appearance.
  • Experiment with Eye Variations: Instead of just mustard or ketchup, try using small edible decorations like sliced black olives or cream cheese dots for the eyes. Apply them with a toothpick for precision to give your mummies extra character.
  • Secure the Dough with Toothpicks: If the dough strips start to unravel while wrapping, use a toothpick to temporarily hold them in place before baking. Remove the toothpicks after baking to maintain the mummy shape without compromising safety.

The different taste and texture of the pizza dough versus other refrigerated dough for these Halloween hot dogs was delicious   And the pizza dough was easier to cut into those very narrow strips making more surface to be browned.
