Allow the cream cheese to sit out on the counter for about 15 to 20 minutes to come to room temperature to soften. Then add the softened cream cheese and soup in a large mixing bowl.
Use a hand mixer mix cream cheese and soup very well.
Add the chopped deli ham and the sliced green onions.
Gently fold in the chopped ham and sliced green onions to complete the cream of shrimp soup dip.
How to Make a Bread Bowl:
Make the bread bowl but still reserve the cubes of bread that are cut out to serve alongside the dip. So our instructions on how to make a bread bowl are keeping that in mind.
Most of the time the steps on how to make a bread bowl are to cut off the top horizontally but we are not doing that for this recipe. So you need to hold your bread knife straight down and cut a vertical circle about 2/3’s the depth into the sourdough bread round.
Make cuts into the cut circle to make little squares. And doing this will help save the cubes of bread to serve with the dip.
Gently pull on each cub and remove the cubes of bread and set aside in a small bowl. Continue until all the top is removed.
After all the cubes are removed, clean out the remaining bread to make room for the bread bowl dip. And that is how to make a bread bowl and to preserve the bread cubes at the same time.
Now spoon your dip made with Campbell’s shrimp soup into the bread round and add the cubes around the sides. Then you can top with additional sliced onions for garnish.
This recipe is very easy but versatile it could either be a shrimp dip or a shrimp spread recipe. And could be served with crackers or as a bread bowl dip. Either way, we know you will love it.
